Barbarian fishing: leaping fish you cut for levels, not dinner. Minnow: a small fish you trade for sharks. 2-tick: a fast click. Skip it if you will not watch.

Unlock

Barbarian fishing wants 48 Fishing, 15 Agility, and 15 Strength, plus Otto's lesson. Minnows and infernal eels have their own levels.

The route

• Early

  Method

  Do the fishing quests, then fly fish or catch lobsters.

  Place

  Stand at a spot next to a bank.

  Click

  Click the spot until the bag is full.

  Leave

  Leave the shrimp once trout is open.

• Mid

  Method

  Catch leaping fish with barbarian fishing, then cut them.

  Place

  Stand at Otto's spot by the Barbarian Outpost.

  Click

  Click the spot, drop the fish, and repeat.

  Leave

  Leave if you need food instead of levels.

• Late

  Method

  Catch minnows, anglerfish, or infernal eels.

  Place

  Stand at that fishing spot.

  Click

  Click, bank, repeat.

  Leave

  Leave the 2-tick harpoon alone unless you will watch every click.

Inventory

Wear the angler's outfit from the Temple Trawler. Use a dragon harpoon if you have one. A fish barrel helps if you own it. Bring only what this method uses. Leave the spare gear in the bank.

Money fork

Anglerfish and sharks can pay. Barbarian fishing is mostly levels, plus a little Strength and Agility. Check the wiki.

Iron fork

If you cannot buy the supplies, gather them yourself. Stay on the earlier step until you have them.

Kit

Wear the angler's outfit from the Temple Trawler. Use a dragon harpoon if you have one. A fish barrel helps if you own it.

Mistakes

Do not fish lobsters to 99 and call it a plan. Do not stand on minnows with no food in a crowd.

Stop

Stop when you have the level you came for. A quest, a prayer, or a weapon. Level 99 is a cape. You do not need it to use the skill.
