Unlock

Use a chapel or a player-owned altar. Ancient Curses want the quest The Temple at Senntisten. Soul Split is on that list. A pile of bones does not unlock it.

The route

• Early

  Method

  Do the prayer quests, then offer cheap bones.

  Place

  Stand at the Lumbridge or Edgeville altar.

  Click

  Click one bone, then offer it.

  Leave

  Leave lamps for levels you already earned.

• Mid

  Method

  Offer dragon bones on a gilded altar or the chapel the wiki ranks.

  Place

  Stand there with the burners lit.

  Click

  Click offer until the bag is empty.

  Leave

  Leave if a burner goes out.

• Late

  Method

  Offer the bone the wiki ranks, on that same altar.

  Place

  Stand in the house, not the Wilderness.

  Click

  Click offer, then train curses when the quest allows.

  Leave

  Leave cleansing crystals unless the live page still lists them.

Inventory

Wear the First Age outfit if you own it. Otherwise clothes do not matter. Do not wear Wilderness gear. That is the other game. Bring only what this method uses. Leave the spare gear in the bank.

Money fork

Dragon bones and frost dragon bones cost coins. A gilded altar or a chapel saves some. Check the wiki. Do not price the Old School chaos altar on this page.

Iron fork

If you cannot buy the supplies, gather them yourself. Stay on the earlier step until you have them.

Kit

Wear the First Age outfit if you own it. Otherwise clothes do not matter. Do not wear Wilderness gear. That is the other game.

Mistakes

Do not copy the Old School chaos altar onto this page. Do not offer bones with the burners out.

Stop

Stop when you have the level you came for. A quest, a prayer, or a weapon. Level 99 is a cape. You do not need it to use the skill.
