Unlock

A bone crossbow or a magic shortbow (a cheap bow) is enough to start. A toxic blowpipe wants the boss Zulrah. A bow of faerdhinen wants The Gauntlet.

The route

  Method

  Shoot cows, the Ranged Guild targets, or your first Slayer tasks.

  Place

  Stand where you will not get piled.

  Click

  Click cheap knives or a bone crossbow.

  Leave

  Leave when you can use a magic shortbow, around the mid forties.

• Mid

  Method

  Do Slayer with a magic shortbow or a crossbow you can afford.

  Place

  Stand on the task.

  Click

  Click the monster, and use a cannon only if the wiki allows it.

  Leave

  Leave the cheap knives behind once the bow is in your hands.

• Late

  Method

  Throw chinchompas at maniacal monkeys, or stay on Slayer with a blowpipe if you can pay for the scales.

  Place

  Stand on a world you can hold.

  Click

  Click the pile, then eat.

  Leave

  Leave if the tile is crowded or the scales run out.

Inventory

Wear Ava's device (it saves some ammo). Wear blessed dragonhide. Wear a Slayer helmet on a task. A necklace of anguish helps if you already own one. Bring only what this method uses. Leave the spare gear in the bank.

Money fork

Arrows and darts are the bill. Chinchompas (throwing animals that hit a whole pile) cost a lot. Check the wiki before you buy a stack.

Iron fork

If you cannot buy the supplies, gather them yourself. Stay on the earlier step until you have them.

Kit

Wear Ava's device (it saves some ammo). Wear blessed dragonhide. Wear a Slayer helmet on a task. A necklace of anguish helps if you already own one.

Mistakes

Do not throw chinchompas on a packed world. Do not buy a blowpipe with no money left for scales.

Stop

Stop when you have the level you came for. A quest, a prayer, or a weapon. Level 99 is a cape. You do not need it to use the skill.
