Words on this page
Heat: the furnace bar you keep up. Rework: bars that match your level. Blast Furnace: the other game.
Unlock
Use the same rework. Heat is the bar on the furnace. A higher bar wants your Smithing level, not a coal bag from the other game.

Inventory
Wear a smithing suit if you own it. Use the best hammer. Protean bars only if you already own them. Bring only what this method uses. Leave the spare gear in the bank.
Money fork
Bars you will use are not a waste. Junk you cannot wear is. Check the wiki.
Iron fork
If you cannot buy the supplies, gather them yourself. Stay on the earlier step until you have them.
Kit
Wear a smithing suit if you own it. Use the best hammer. Protean bars only if you already own them.
Mistakes
Do not paste the Blast Furnace from Old School. Do not smith a stack of platebodies you will not wear.
Stop
Stop when you have the level you came for. A quest, a prayer, or a weapon. Level 99 is a cape. You do not need it to use the skill.
Official notes
XP rates move. Use the live wiki for the number. This page is the route.
