Essence: the rock you turn into runes. Pouch: a bag that holds extra essence so you run less. Guardians of the Rift: the minigame where you feed a rift.

Unlock

Rune Mysteries starts you. Lost City opens cosmic runes. Heroes' Quest opens death runes. Pouches (bags that hold extra essence) come from the Abyss.

The route

• Early

  Method

  Do the quests, then craft air runes.

  Place

  Stand at the air altar.

  Click

  Click essence into the altar, then run back.

  Leave

  Leave when you can use the small pouch.

• Mid

  Method

  Craft lava runes with Magic Imbue, or play Guardians of the Rift.

  Place

  Stand at the fire altar for lavas, or inside the Rift.

  Click

  Click the essence, then the altar.

  Leave

  Leave lavas if you will not watch the clicks.

• Late

  Method

  Craft blood runes from 77, or soul runes from 90.

  Place

  Stand at that altar.

  Click

  Click the pouch, then the altar, then the bank.

  Leave

  Leave for the Rift if you want the outfit and a calmer click.

Inventory

Wear the Raiments of the Eye if you have them. Wear a stamina potion. Bring the pouches. Bring only what this method uses. Leave the spare gear in the bank.

Money fork

Lava runes can pay. Blood runes and soul runes can pay. Guardians of the Rift is for levels first. Check the wiki for this month's price.

Iron fork

If you cannot buy the supplies, gather them yourself. Stay on the earlier step until you have them.

Kit

Wear the Raiments of the Eye if you have them. Wear a stamina potion. Bring the pouches.

Mistakes

Do not run the Abyss with no food and a cash stack. Do not craft without a pouch once you can hold one.

Stop

Stop when you have the level you came for. A quest, a prayer, or a weapon. Level 99 is a cape. You do not need it to use the skill.
